Wow – what a night! Thanks to everyone who came down to support the night at O’Neills Bournemouth last night. Considering it was a completely open mic event, the standard was incredible. A few of the acts that got through to the voting round of the Purbeck Rising competition but were pipped at the post came along for another bash, and there were a good few others that hadn’t entered initially. And that’s what it’s all about – a chance for those who couldn’t enter initially because they don’t have videos, or didn’t get to the final through the voting round, to still make it through to the final.
There were four judges and when we talked through the best of the evening, there were two clear winners; Ella Squirrell and Ant Lewis. We couldn’t decide between them so we’ve decided to make 2 extra spaces in the Purbeck Rising finals for them.
The finals take place on the Saturday afternoon of the festival from midday, where there’ll be a 50:50 decision from a different judging panel, and the audience at the festival. More information here…
