Juniper was formed in Birmingham Conservatoire and consists of Scottish fiddle player Sean Morrison who grew up playing traditional Scottish tunes in ceilidh bands and tune sessions, Sean now is studying classical violin. Emily Hicks is from Northamptonshire and is a classically trained flute player in her second year studying at Birmingham Conservatoire. Harry Thorpe on guitar who grew up in Bury St Edmunds playing in folk clubs and traditional sessions whenever he could before setting up and running a youth folk ensemble of 19 people for two years. Rob Roberts who studied composition at university but plays bass in this ensemble, Rob has had his work played all around Birmingham and Manchester and is hoping to expand his outreach in the future. And finally Jerome on Percussion. Jerome is a classical percussionist but brings a blend of contemporary rhythms through a range of instruments.

We are all members of Joe Broughton’s Conservatoire Folk Ensemble, having played many festivals with them in the past, including Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Towersey Folk Festival, Kendal Calling, Shambala, Greenman Beverley Folk Festival, Gate To Southwell, New Forest Folk Festival, and many others.
