As a troubadour Paul Cherryseed sang his fruitful, redeeming songs from the heart. His journey began in a community in Eck en Wiel, where he was was named Mr. Cherryseed.
In May 2013 his first album came out, an album with english folksongs. His next album dove into the old black gospel and after a beautiful trip with his wife Ilse to Brasil, he took up the challenge to write brazilian folk songs about the people he met on the trip and the stories he heard.
In April 2024, while in the making of his album ‘Eyes of the Blind’, he found out that he had an aggressive form of cancer. Still he finished this beautiful album, which is a mix of Brazilian and old gospel music, filled with lyrics of hope and faith.
After his death his wife Ilse continues his legacy as ‘Miss Cherryseed’, playing a variety of songs from his last albums together with Paul’s friends. Through the songs she weaves their touching love story, which shows Paul’s motto: “Let your eyes see the wonder of tomorrow, let your feet follow grace every day”.
