Loris and the Lion weave gentle tales of joy and loss; a patchwork of sonic delights to soothe the soul and feed the heart. An alt-folk/post classical duo from Liverpool, navigating life together accompanied by fairytales and folklore.

Calling to mind the sounds and spirit of Kate Bush, Joanna Newsom, and Jesca Hoop, their music intertwines complex lyrical melodies and narrative lyrics with undulating harmonies and gentle textures.

Delicate fingerstyle acoustic guitar and harmonium, cascading piano and clarinet, and shimmering bowed electric guitar all blend with simultaneously fragile yet powerful vocals to create a captivating soundworld that bewitches audiences.

They have supported the likes of Ye Vagabonds, Jesca Hoop, Kathryn Williams, Rozi Plain and Siv Jakobsen, and have performed at festivals such as Cambridge Folk Festival, Purbeck Valley Folk Festival and Unwedding Festival. They released their debut EP Jorinde and Joringel in 2021, and it received album of the year awards from For Folk Sake and Bido Lito.

After a period of writing, reflection, marriage and more, they are currently recording new music, the first glimpses of which is set to be released this year.
