The Holandestinas met each other in Holland, but their heart has always been in Brasil. Together they travelled several times to this beautiful country to learn more about the music and culture. As Brasilians are very open people, they learnt the language and made many new friends, with whom they also recorded an album of a mix of Brazilian and European music. Pauline and Ilse love to fly from gypsy music to jewish klezmer, from brazilian forró to jazz melodies. Together with bass player Ruben Becx and drummer Job Noordmans they will provide a variety of lovely folky, danceable songs from Europe, America and Brazil.
They will also be playing a set as ‘Miss Cherryseed and Paul’s Cherryfriends’ in remembrance and celebration of Paul Cherryseed (who sadly passed in 2025 before he was due to perform at PVFF).
