Owl in the Sun play a home-grown blend of acoustic folk and swing, with self-penned songs that herald from outside the city way of things. From the heart-warming to the dark and edgy, the gentle toe-tapping to the dance your socks off, you can expect infectious melodies and luscious vintage vocal harmonies over a line-up of upright bass, acoustic guitars, accordion, violin and flute.

The Owls have performed at Glastonbury Festival (for the BBC and for Michael Eavis himself…) and many more. They love Purbeck Valley Folk Festival the best though! They have been played multiple times by Bob Harris on Radio 2 and have been playlisted on Radio 1. They featured in the ‘Top 30 bands pushing the roots music envelope in Europe’ by American magazine Alternative Root. With three albums under their belt, they’re currently working on their fourth.

Owl in the Sun are Colin Cain (guitar, vocals), Cathy Crozier-Cole (upright bass, flute, vocals), Kate Bridge (violin, vocals), Tim Crozier-Cole (guitar, vocals), Damon Bridge (accordion) and Tom Cain (percussion).

“Wittily written, artfully arranged and niftily played. I’m a big fan!” – Mark Kermode

“The band are brilliant” – Greg James, BBC Radio 1
