Amelie McCandless is a french singer and guitarist , and also a songwriter resolutely folk.
She started in the hip-hop dance, then as a singer in the rock’n’roll, grunge and punk’s spheres.
But the determining revelation was with the listening of the American singer Alela Diane during the summer 2008. That’s when she dedicated herself to folk music and founds GINGERBREAD’S at the end of 2010.
She chants her songs, sometimes on an incantatory way, in a detached style of the traditional alternate verse-chorus; a little like wild grasses who grows without ties and looking intuitively in search of light.
Amelie played a fabulous set for Purbeck Rising in 2015 with her band. We had to have her back!
